“What is this place?”
“Somewhere.”
“Did you make that up just then?”
“Yup. I have no idea where we are.”
There was a silence; there was only the
ambient sound of tiny creatures scurrying across the void and the ring
of a pipe retracting.
“Perhaps we’re in a nightmare?” said Cloud Boy.
“Perhaps” Grizzle whispered. “The Lack of sunlight and the pure emptiness and loneliness is utterly frightening.”
“I bet we can make this nightmare into a dream.”
So they ran. They ran through the trap of
suburbia, through office buildings and heartbreak. They ran through all
of the forgotten ideas until they broke through into the light. Over the
hills, through the countless caves of Luinia and finally arrived at a
tiny little door marked 183. Cloud boy slowly approached the handle, his
hand tucked inside his sleeve. The door swung open and they wondered
into a wonderful dream.
