Dead Cats

We went to the camera store to get a "dead cat" (the fluffy thing you put over a microphone to not pick up the sound of the wind) this happened...

There once was a girl who collected beautiful things...

There once was a girl who collected beautiful things. She would store the things, feelings and moments on a shelf on her bedroom wall, mostly she would keep them in small bottles. There were all kinds of lovely things:

The smell of wet concrete after a long, dry summer,

The sunlight that would seep in through her bedroom window every afternoon making the dust floating slowly through the air visible,

The sound of the ocean, she this kept in a shell, of course, she had collected it the previous summer she had spent at the beach,

The warmth of the mug she had held in her hands the day she stayed home from school sick,

The wind that blew through her hair on a spring day in the long grass of the fields.

One of her favourites was a small, dark cloud she kept on the edge of her shelf; she had climbed up onto the roof to collect it during a storm. Every now and then a little bolt of lightning would strike out of it, or, as she drifted off to sleep, she could hear the faint sound of thunder roaring in the distance…
